INTRODUCTION – Why is this a Global Justice Issue?

Tax justice means fairer systems for taxing. Potential loss of tax revenues to the EU amount to approximately one trillion each year and billions are lost from countries in the Global south. Tax in any country can be used to pay for essential services such as health, education or public infrastructure. All tax that is not paid to governments is a loss to the country's essential public services.
