Main Learning Outcome 10: Evaluate how humans can successfully conserve ecological biodiversity and contribute to global food production; appreciate the benefits that people obtain from ecosystems.
Overview
In this lesson, available in both Irish and English, learners will explore the importance of plants in medicine, the global impact of biodiversity loss, and the expertise of Indigenous peoples in preserving ecosystems. They will also consider ways to enhance biodiversity in their local area and how to stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities. The session can be adapted for different Junior Cycle year groups.
